Banning The Batman Show in Russia!
Last night, WarnerMedia announced that the film would not be shown in Russia: “In light of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, The Batman movie will be banned in Russia, and we will look forward to future updates on the situation. We hope for a safe solution to this tragedy.“
The Batman is the newest movie adaptation of the popular Batman story, directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravits as Catwoman, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, and Jeffrey Wright.
The Russian military has launched a large-scale military operation in Ukraine despite Western warnings and the threat of imposing unprecedented sanctions on Moscow, and there were reports of missile strikes and explosions in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, and other cities, amid reports of many deaths.
Disney had previously stated that future films, including Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Lightyear, would not be shown in Russian theaters.
The Batman movie will be shown in Egyptian cinemas starting Wednesday, March 2nd.
