Amber Heard was almost replaced in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but not due to her allegations of assault against Johnny Depp. Rather, according to DC Films president Walter Hamada, Heard was almost cut from the project due to chemistry issues with co-star Jason Momoa.

The head of DC Films testified Tuesday that the studio considered replacing Amber Heard, the star of “Aquaman 2” because she lacked chemistry with Jason Momoa, stressing that the company delayed its decision for several weeks due to the discussion of recasting or replacing Amber Heard’s role in the new sequel.

Heard’s team has claimed that the online campaign against her over her abuse allegations against Depp cost her at least one other role—an Amazon film with Gael Garcia Bernal—as well as lucrative endorsement deals.
