The actor lives with his girlfriend, Australian actress “Tilda Cobham Hervey,” in the Australian city of Adelaide, where he witnessed an accidental fight between a man and a woman with a knife. The couple had a fight with each other outside a store, where witnesses, including Patel, tried to break up the fight, then the woman stabbed the man in the chest.
Patel’s agent talked about this exciting incident and Patel’s calm role in treating it, explaining that the actor acted on his natural instinct and tried to stop the quarrel, indifferent to the presence of the knife.
According to the news, the witnesses remained until emergency services were called to the area after being informed of the fight between a man and a woman.
Patel’s agent said the young actor was willing to put himself in danger to help, but he did not consider himself a hero, as the media reported.
The fight was not considered random because the couple knew each other, and the 32-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where fortunately, his injury is not considered life-threatening. The 34-year-old wife was arrested at the scene and charged with assault with a bladed weapon.
Actor Dev Patel has appeared in many American films, first appearing in Slumdog Millionaire and Lion and both winning an Oscar.
