John Cena sets new Guinness World Record by granting 650 wishes
Wrestling champion and actor John Cena has set a world record for most wishes granted through Make-A-Wish, a nonprofit organization that helps fulfil the wishes of children diagnosed with serious illnesses. According to the Encyclopedia, John Cena was officially registered as the Foundation’s Most Wanted Celebrity, with 650 of those wishes granted by the children who wanted to meet him.
Guinness reports that no person has granted more than 200 wishes in the 42 years of the Make-a-Wish foundation, noting that John Cena joined the organization in 2002, after signing with the World Wrestling Federation, and then was honored for fulfilling 500 wishes from the foundation in 2015.
In an earlier interview with Reuters, John Cena declared his support for the foundation, saying, “If you ever need me for this ever, I don’t care what I’m doing – I … be involved because I think that’s the coolest thing,” noting that he wanted the children “an experience that stays with them to Forever.”
