Moore, who won an Oscar for best actress in 2014 for “Still Alice,” chaired a six-person jury at the festival, which continues for 11 days in the Italian city.

Filmmakers dominate the jury at this year’s festival, which includes Argentine Mariano Cohen, Italian Leonardo Di Costanzo, Spain’s Rodrigo Soroguin, and France’s Audrey Diwan.

The jury also includes Iranian actress Leila Hatami and Japanese-British screenwriter Kazuo Ishiguro.

All will travel to the Lido next month to vote on the festival’s main prizes, which include the Golden Lion for best film and the Silver Lion for best director, which frequently set the tone for the upcoming awards season.

It is noteworthy that the Venice Film Festival is the oldest in the world, and one of the most famous festivals. Its 79th edition will be held from August 31 to September 10.
