“The opportunity to invite a famous bear to tea was just too much fun to miss,” a palace spokesman told the London-based Sunday Times.

A Buckingham Palace source added that ” Her majesty is well known for her sense of humor, so it should be no surprise that she decided to take part in tonight’s sketch”

The film was kept secret for several months by Buckingham Palace, BBC Studios and the Happy Films Studio Canal.

Participants in the film, which was shot at Windsor Castle, praised the Queen’s cleverness and warmth during filming, saying that she was shining and made them all feel at ease.
